Who is Victor’s Father?
The Nigerian underground artiste Victor Agu Orji, popularly known as Victor Chisom Friday (Freshkid Makavele), was only six years old when he left his hometown, Elu Ohafia. This town is located in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria, where he was born.
At the center of his upbringing stands the man he calls “the strongest man I know”—his father, Mr. Friday Agu Orji.
A Father’s Journey
Mr. Friday Agu Orji, born on 1st November 1960 into the Ndi Anaga compound in Elu Ohafia and is the son of Mr. Orji Eke and Late Mrs. Grace Orji Eke.
He worked as an engineer with SCC Nigeria Limited, a job that helped him provide for his young family until he was laid off in 2015.
Despite not being able to give his children a luxurious life, he gave them something far more valuable – his strength, his commitment, and his all.
Relocations and Sacrifice
In 2006, Mr. Friday relocated his family to Dutse Baupma, Abuja, where he was working at the time. Two and a half years later, in early 2009, he was transferred again, this time to Kaduna State.
With every transfer came another relocation, another adjustment, another sacrifice.
The family eventually settled in a small village called Chinka, where most of Victor’s childhood memories were shaped.
A Large and Close-Knit Family
Mr. Friday Agu Orji and his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Agu Orji from Ameapku Ohafia, raised seven children:

3. Victor Agu Orji
4. Prince Agu Orji
5. Ada / Ifeanyi Agu Orji (twins)
6. Joy Agu Orji
Although Victor is the third child and third son, he did not grow up alongside his older brothers.
• Jnr Friday was raised by their grandmother, Late Mrs. Grace Orji.
• Lucky lived with their father’s younger sister from age two.
Victor, being the oldest child, grew up directly under his parent’s roof. He naturally became the protector, learning responsibility, courage, and survival from an early age.
Life After the Job Loss
When Mr. Friday lost his engineering job in 2015, the family turned to farming in Chinka. Together, they cultivated corn, rice, potatoes, cassava, ginger, okra, groundnut, vegetables, and more.
They survived through hard work, using produce from the farm to eat, and selling produce.
They lived happily, but were very poor and had to struggle to make ends meet.
Victor’s Turning Point
In 2017, after completing high school, Victor now known widely as Freshkid Makavele, made a bold decision. He left the village for the city to hustle with his new qualification as a barber. He was determined to support his younger siblings through school and financially support his family.
His vision was clear:
“My family has suffered a lot. My dream is to put them in a position where they can eat whatever they want without struggle”.
Freshkid often says he doesn’t plan to live long, but hopes that if GOD permits him, his life will be meaningful. His mission is simple yet powerful:
“I killed myself years ago for my family. I’m now just a working dead man with one dream – to get a better life for myself and my family.”
